Decorating Baby's Nursery - On a budget
Are you excited at the thought of the perfect room for your baby? Are you frustrated because it will cost you a fortune? Well, not necessarily. You do not have to spend a lot of money to do up your baby’s room if you are on a budget.
Having a baby has its costs, but money will be better spend for more essential things like a car seat, crib, diapers etc. While you can splurge as much as you want if money permits, what do you do if you have a budget but at the same time, you want to give your baby a beautiful nursery?
Here we will look at some decorating tips to help you create a beautiful nursery without breaking your bank account.
1) Save on wallpaper. Use paint instead. You can add stencils or stamps on the borders, paste happy face stickers, hang brightly colored cartoon pictures on the wall, hang baby quilts, or draw flowers and happy faces on the wall. The trick here is to include more bright colors and contrasting patterns in your decoration.
2) Get stain resistant carpets for the floor. It would be even better if you can have hardwood flooring. This will save you lots of money in the long run. In the early years, you will probably encounter many occasions of spillage, scratching and many types of abuse that the floor will get.
3) Windows. You will be better off getting blinds that can be easily cleaned with a wet cloth of drapes that are washable easily. Another consideration is to get those room darkening kind of blinds.
What is often neglected is the ceiling. As you baby will be spending most of his or her time lying down. It makes sense to decorate the ceiling for your baby. You can hang stuffed toys, alphabets, or put stickers on them.
It is important to keep your baby’s room clean, uncluttered cheery and practical. Use your creativity instead of your wallet when it comes to decorating your baby’s nursery. After all, it is your labor of love!
